Children’s Care & Development Center
is a state licensed, ExceleRate Gold and NAEYC accredited early childhood program.
Our mission is to provide a safe, loving environment, designed to engage and support your child’s cognitive, physical, and social emotional growth.
Our philosophy follows developmentally appropriate practices as prescribed by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children). Research confirms that planned activities that provide hands-on learning, collaborative play and exploration provide meaningful learning experiences for young children.
Our curriculum is planned by teachers degreed in Early Childhood Education. Topics of study are implemented through project work which meet Illinois Early Learning Standards and Objectives. Through guided exploration, children discover different ways to obtain answers to their questions. We build a strong foundation for young children to become life-long learners.
Our teachers act as facilitators, preparing the environment, modeling appropriate behavior, and helping young children learn self-control. Our teachers praise good behavior, acknowledge feelings, redirect and set clear limits when necessary. Children learn how to problem solve, negotiate and share with others. We teach children to respect themselves, others, and their surroundings.
Our teachers recognize parents as their child's first teachers. We establish strong partnerships with parents, through parent notes, newsletters, conferences, curriculum nights, and family events. Through a combination of low child-staff ratios and close teacher interaction, optimum growth and development can take place. Parents are welcome to stop in at any time throughout the day.
